Amplify Science! magazine
Amplify Science! magazineAmplify Education is a curriculum company based out of Brooklyn that’s got a seriously cool approach to learning. While working on a refresh of their National Science curriculum, I got to imagine a new learning supplemental that would add freshness to their offerings: Amplify Science! magazine. Hello, dream gig!

Cover prototype: Grades K–2 In dreaming up a visual direction for the magazine, I did a deep dive into market research and developed a look that stood out by harnessing Amplify's superpower: real kids who are excited about science.
Cover prototype: Grades 3–5
Cover prototype: Grades 3–5The magazine was created with three different grade bands in mind, keeping the design consistent while leveling the copy and age of its photo subjects. Graphic shapes change with each issue's theme, with blocks of color behind each tease so we're never wrestling with the unpredictability of type over a photo.

Cover prototype: Grades 6–8The key to the magazine's visual appeal is photography that's original with a photojournalistic, intimate style. Subjects are always real students and teachers in real situations. When all kids see themselves reflected in a celebration of hands-on science, it's game-changing inspiration.

Teacher's guide “Materials, Preparation & Activity,” wireframeAs part of Amplify’s National Science curriculum refresh, I helped reimagine the Materials, Preparation & Activity for the print teacher's guide. The goal was to create a quick-start manual that was chart-like and effortless to digest.
